These modern multiple units have a total of 402 seats: 57 seats in first class and 345 seats in second class cars. The first and the second class cars are of an open type. Electrical sockets are available to the passengers.

Each unit has two places for disabled passengers in the open section. Apart from the first and the second class cars, the units comprise a restaurant carriage to serve meals and beverages. The restaurant car will have 20 standing places.

The units have a total of 9 toilets. One larger toilet is designed for disabled passengers and is additionally equipped with a changing table. This toilet is located near places for disabled passengers.

The design speed of the multiple units is 250 km/h, and this can be achieved at a voltage of 3 kV DC, 15kV 16 2/3Hz and 25kV 50Hz A, thanks to asynchronous traction motors suspended by spring coils and coupled with bogies by means of Cardan joints. The voltage of the control and battery charging circuits is 24 V DC.

The average acceleration of the unit:

  • 0 to 40 km/h – approx. 0.49 m/s2,
  • 0 to 120 km/h – approx. 0.42 m/s2,
  • 0 to 160 km/h – approx. 0.36 m/s2,
  • final acceleration to 250 km/h is approx. 0.07 m/s2.

The kerb weight of the unit is 395.5 tonnes, and the maximum axle load is 17 t. Maximum centrifugal unbalanced acceleration in the railhead plane: 1.0 m/s2.

The multiple units have monobloc wheelsets with a wheel profile of S1002.

The units have dual suspension.Three brake types are used: a pneumatic, an electric and a parking brake. The electric brake comprises the regenerative and the resistance brake systems with automatic operation mode selection. The parking brake is of a spring type and allows the unit to remain stationary on slopes of 30‰.

The length of external coaches is 28.2 m, and the internal coaches are 26.2 m long. The length of the entire unit is 187.4 m. Maximum coach width is 2.8 m.

Both driver cabs are equipped with seats for the driver and the second driver. Both cabs are very similar apart from one difference – inside one cab, an event recorder is installed to record the changes in speed, time and distance of travel, the distance of travel under voltage, operation of brakes and ATP.

The unit is equipped with a dual radio communication device (analogue and GSM – R). Each unit has a "Radiostop" function.

The units can be operated within a temperature range of -250C to +400C. Because of two HVAC modules installed in each car operate independently, in case of malfunction of one module, the second can keep the temperature at a comfortable level – even in extreme ambient temperatures.
